Fond Farewell -Ailbhe

On 12th April, the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre held a heartfelt farewell lunch for Ailbhe McCormack, our much-loved Lead Coach and Yard Manager. The event brought together Ailbhe’s family, Pony Centre trustees, clients, volunteers, and staff, along with our founder Sister Mary Joy Langdon and new CEO Tonya Ellis, all to celebrate Ailbhe’s remarkable contribution to the Centre.

Ailbhe’s connection with the Pony Centre spans an impressive 30 years. She was appointed Lead Coach in 2024, and during her time in this role, she provided steady and inspiring leadership through a period of significant transition. Her dedication to guiding and mentoring our coaching team—particularly in supporting them through their BHS qualifications—has left a lasting impact.

Ailbhe’s deep care for our riders and her passionate commitment to the Changing Lives Through Horses programme have been truly exceptional. Under her leadership, the programme flourished, offering transformative experiences to many young people.

While there were a few tears as we said our goodbyes, we hope that Ailbhe will be back to visit us. We are immensely thankful for all that she has brought to the Pony Centre and wish her every success in this exciting new chapter of her career. She will always be part of the Pony Centre family.
